What is the Cost of Dental Implants in Singapore?

bigstock-Dental-implant-38866831If you have missing teeth or loose, ill-fitting conventional dentures, chances are that your dentist has told you that dental implants are the very best solution for your problem. Fact is, implants offer a range of advantages that no other option can, including protection against bone loss and a dental restoration that looks, feels and functions like strong, healthy natural teeth. Of course, dental implants do cost more – at least initially – than other options.

So Just What is the Cost of Dental Implants in Singapore?

The total costs associated with dental implant restorations varies widely from one patient to another based on many factors, including the number and type of implants used, the type of prosthesis chosen, the particular surgical procedure that is done and whether any preparatory procedures are necessary, among others. Prices also vary significantly from one clinic or provider to another, so getting an accurate estimate in your particular case will require a consultation with a Singapore oral surgeon, as well as a restorative dentist.

However, the Ministry of Health does offer some guidance on the average costs of implants in Singapore that can help you get a rough idea of how much you will spend on the first stage of dental implant restoration, having your dental implants surgically placed into your jawbone. According to their figures, the average cost of dental implants in public institutions from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2014 ranged from $1,377 to $2,034 per implant, and average costs in private dental clinics ranged from $1,250 to $4,000. Average cost figures presented by the Ministry of Health include the implant and the implant placement surgery, but do not include the costs of the consultation, x-rays, OT consumables or, in most cases, the prosthesis.

As you estimate your costs, it is important to keep in mind that implant-based dental restoration is a process that consists of several steps, and the costs listed above are those associated with just one: Dental implant placement. You'll also have to budget for the other major step in the process, which is the fabrication and placement of your prosthesis, or replacement teeth. Again, the only way to get an accurate, personalized estimate on what implants in Singapore will cost in your specific case is to consult with a Singapore oral surgeon about the implant placement, and a restorative dentist on the cost of your replacement teeth.
