Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Background Information
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. SL Chan manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Chan practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from Dental Implant Surgery and Wisdom Tooth Removal to Corrective Jaw Surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat Facial Pain, Facial Injuries and Fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) Sedation in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
Surgical Staff
The surgical staff at Aesthetic Reconstructive Jaw Surgery is made up of experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of I. V. sedation and surgery. All staff are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies and are CPR certified.

Dr Chan has held major leadership position in Singapore Dentistry, including being President of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (Singapore), Chairman of the Singapore Regional Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and President of the College of Dental Surgeons of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has also served in the Singapore Dental Council where he chaired the Credentials Committee and the Aesthetic Facial Procedures Oversight Committee.
